I am not a whisky drinker but could seriously rethink that with this bottle. It’s expensive, yes, but worth every penny
This is by far and away the most special whiskey I’ve tried. But two years ago you could buy this for £130. Last year it was £150. Now this? Will it be well in to the £200s next year? People suck. Stop buying it and make it more affordable!!! The rally annoying thing is, it’s still worth it.
This is a truly amazing whisky, love the Glenmorangie 18, but this is another level up. First taste was the hint of coffee, then the flavours of rich fruit and gentle chocolate come through. The finish is long and creamy with raisins and chocolate. I am far from an expert and am always drawn to rich sherry flavours in whisky. Signet is truly unique and with the initial coffee mellowing into rich fruit and chocolate I find this is an amazing buy.
WOW ! Just look at its awards its picked up so you know this is going to be good, no its one of the most unique and best single malt whisky I’ve had. That chocolate malted cadboll barley whisky is chocolatey with Rosted coffee beans and rich dark and intense, seductive and like velvet on your tongue it just coats your mouth and all as I can say is that it’s intense from beginning to end but in the best of ways, it does not disappoint. If there was ever a sexy whisky in a bottle then this is it. It’s seductive and draws you in for more.
The nose is really lovely and reminds of a lovely wee cake and coffee shop I visited in Cuba a few years ago. If you threw cocoa powder into the air in a coffee shop whilst sucking on a piece of dark chocolate, that kind of covers it for me. The palate was ridiculously lovely, it was sweet without being too sweet, I didn’t get any orange or citrus at all but I did get lychee but it was as if the lychee had been dipped in chocolate. As the taste develops it gets very complex and also frustrating as I tried to think of where the sweetness was coming from, I couldn’t nail anything in particular other than it evoked memories of my dear Nana’s sweet bowl which had a bit of everything. The finish was just gorgeous, long, smooth sweet and it didn’t make me want to take another sip, it made me want to enjoy the lingering memories. Fantastic whisky and yes it isn’t cheap but for the memories it brought back it’s worth every single penny. The bottle and the packaging are also beautiful so for a gift you’d struggle to give better.
