The Lagavulin 21 Year Old 1991 (Special Release 2012) is one of the most coveted Islay single malts ever bottled. Distilled in 1991 and released as part of Diageo’s prestigious Special Releases series, this limited-edition expression was drawn from carefully selected refill European oak casks and bottled at natural cask strength.
Only a small number of bottles were made available worldwide, making it an ultra-rare collector’s item. This whisky perfectly balances Lagavulin’s iconic peat smoke with deep layers of fruit, spice, and oak maturity gained over 21 years. A true masterpiece for connoisseurs and investors in fine Scotch whisky.

A friend and I spent some time getting to know this bottle last night. This is a seriously top notch whisky. It pays to give this one time in the glass, and in fact to use a great glass like the Eisch Jeunesse. Tasted properly, this explodes with flavor and depth. Don’t guzzle this. It opens up nicely with just a few drops of water.
