Macallan 18 Year Old 1979 Gran Reserva

A special release of 18-year-old single malt from The Macallan, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997. While The Macallan is well known for its sherry cask-matured whiskies, “sherried” does not even do this one justice. The Gran Reserva releases are seriously super sherried and highly sought after – the 1979 vintage is particularly popular within the series.

Macallan 18 Year Old 1979 Gran Reserva Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich sherry, dark chocolate, figs, and Christmas cake with hints of spice.
Palate: Full-bodied with layers of dried fruits, espresso, cinnamon, and oak tannins. Luxuriously smooth with a velvety texture.
Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering sherry sweetness and elegant spice.
