Having just tried this 15 year old was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavour
Slightly darker single malt whiskey, quite a distinct and heady smell. Very smooth with a stronger and longer lasting after taste. Personally preferred the “Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask”
A nice oaky aroma and taste, very smooth. I didn’t find much body and taste, especially when trying the 12 and 18 cask versions. Does have a fair bit of punch from the offset, though I wish it had more depth.
This is a great drink and I highly recommend it. It is what I was looking for. It has a great taste, a refreshing warm feeling followed by a good after taste. I will be sticking with this one for a while.
Smell. Fig and vanilla. Similar to the 12 yo. But more complex. Warming Texture is almost a banana type creamyness but without the flavour. Taste sweet initially like candied peel. Developing into Fig notes and then a lingering heat at the end. Some bitterness but nicely balanced. Panacotta type creamyness. This comes across in the nose as it airs and develops. Drop of water and it becomes more fruity/citrus on the nose. Fresher. Water removes some of the heat, but doesn’t impact the flavour in
