This is the drink for when you just want to sit back and enjoy. When you don’t have the space to critique or assess nose or finish. It’s a great whisky for the uninitiated and stands tall amongst others in it’s class. It is overpriced for what it is, but many things in life are. A MontBlanc pen, a Mercedes Benz, a Hugo Boss three piece are all similar examples of products which have lower priced competition, but which are still an enduring mark of quality.
Johnnie Walker blue is that whiskey for the people that don’t really like whiskey but want to come across as cool and interesting. It’s still a decent bottling, and I have ordered the Chinese New Year bottles as the art is brilliant.
Not a bad drink, nice nose, rich aftertaste, but too overpriced. What can you do about modern marketing.
